What this site is

This site publishes a weather forecast for named South African locations. The forecast is the average of six independent weather models, weighted by how accurate each model has actually been at the weather station nearest to that location. The disagreement between the models is printed beside the number, because it tells you how much to trust it. The forecast is information, not advice, and it is not a substitute for the official warnings issued by the South African Weather Service. Read Forecast Accuracy before you rely on it for anything important.

Your licence to use the site

You may read the site, print or save a page for your own use, and share links to it. The share buttons exist for that purpose. You may not:

• copy, republish, resell or redistribute the pages or the forecasts as your own, or as part of a product you sell;
• remove or hide the attribution on the data sources page or in the footer;
• use automated means to read the site in bulk, including crawlers, scrapers and scripts, except a search engine indexing it in the ordinary way;
• attempt to break into, overload, probe or interfere with the site, the server, or the page counter, or to work around the access rules;
• frame the site inside another site, or present it as part of another service.

We may block any address or automated client that breaks these rules, without notice.

Advertising

This site carries advertising, which is what pays for it. Advertisements are labelled, and they are kept separate from the forecast. An advertisement is not a recommendation: we do not check, guarantee or endorse the goods or services advertised, and any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them. Links to other sites

This site links to other websites, including the weather services whose data we use and the advertisers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they contain or for how they treat you.

Who owns what

The pages, the writing, the layout, the charts and the name and marks of this site belong to [[FULL LEGAL NAME OF THE COMPANY]]. The underlying weather data belongs to the weather services that produced it and is used under an open licence that requires us to credit them, which we do on the data sources page. If you believe something on this site infringes your rights, write to hello@seoninjas.co.za and we will deal with it promptly.

Availability

We aim to refresh the forecast three times a day, in the morning, at midday and in the evening. We do not promise that the site will always be available, that every location will always have a forecast, or that a delivery will not be late. The site is provided as it is.

Limits on our responsibility

We take care to publish the models accurately and to show how much they disagree, but we cannot promise that a forecast will be right. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from reliance on a forecast, including decisions about travel, farming, events, property or business. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.

Changes

We may change these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction over any dispute.
